On Saturday 8.2.2025 we organized the first round of lectures and talks about art and architecture in the beautiful spaces of Pistori Palace on
Stefanikova street in Bratislava as part of the regular vintage old town market PISTORI MARKET.

LAMOOT BARBARA, Materialists
Materialist matter – (Material matters / the essence of matter )
This presentation describes two collaborations between Barbara Lamoot and Don Harger in 2013 New Jersey and 2014 Leipzig.
Barbara Lamoot: “In an internet conversation, Harger and I, as two artists with differing artistic, and civic views, after several verbal shootouts, began to search for a point of agreement as artists. We came to the topic of technology, because we couldn’t even agree on the technique of painting. There is a point of agreement where the artist already has his hands up to his elbows in pigments and oils. Matter, matter without associated cultural meanings, means security and safety for both of us as creators.”
Together, the artist and the artist have explored historical painting technologies from the production of paint from pigments and polymerized oil medium to the painterly outcomes of two series of pastoses painted in Velazquez medium with underpainting with gouache tempera and underpainting with charcoal in grape branches.

GABIKA FUKATSCHOVÁ, Reconstruction of the Villa on Lichardova Street
The presentation presents the original state, the course of project works, visualizations and the new state of the realized extension and reconstruction of the restoration of the Villa on Lichardova, which is the original project of Prof. Eugen Kramár, the creator of modernism in Bratislava.
